Date: March 26, 2025
On June 20, 2025, the DIGITRAIN project team attended the European Congress on Digital Literacy, held in Brussels and organized by the European Commission in collaboration with key organizations from the education and technology sectors.
The event brought together over 300 professionals from 20 countries, including policymakers, educators, NGOs, and representatives of Erasmus+ funded projects. DIGITRAIN was selected to present its methodological approach focused on low-skilled adults in digital contexts.
Roundtable on Digital Inclusion
On the second day of the congress, the project coordinator, Marta Romero (Femxa, Spain), participated in a roundtable titled “Digital Training for Vulnerable Audiences: Real Challenges and Practical Solutions.”
In her speech, she emphasized:
-
The importance of developing accessible and culturally adapted content
-
The use of visual tools and barrier-free technologies
-
The project’s multinational approach, with concrete examples from Spain, Italy, and Germany
Her participation sparked significant interest among attendees from Eastern European countries, who expressed interest in replicating aspects of the DIGITRAIN methodology in their own regions.
Interactive Stand and Networking
DIGITRAIN also featured an interactive stand where visitors could try out the project’s initial training modules. Thanks to touchscreens, tablets, and the guidance of the technical team, dozens of professionals explored the developed learning environment, including:
-
Modules on basic digital skills
-
Self-assessment tools for digital competence
-
Resources in easy-to-read and accessible formats
The EduTech Italy team used the opportunity to establish contacts with other educational organizations, laying the groundwork for future collaborations.
International Visibility and Next Steps
Participation in this event was key to strengthening DIGITRAIN’s international visibility and positioning it as a reference in inclusive digital literacy projects. Some of the congress sessions are expected to be made publicly available, and DIGITRAIN will help promote them through its official channels.
