The digital divide among adults is a persistent reality in Europe. Although access to devices has improved, the lack of digital skills remains a significant barrier to full participation in society.
Why does this happen?
The causes are multiple: low educational levels, limited exposure to technology in the workplace, lack of tailored training, or simply fear of making mistakes. These factors especially affect older adults, unemployed individuals, or those with irregular work histories.
Consequences of digital exclusion
Being left out of the digital environment means limitations in completing administrative procedures, accessing online training, participating in social processes, or even finding employment. This exclusion deepens existing inequalities and affects personal autonomy.
DIGITRAIN’s proposals
Our project investigates and addresses these causes by developing inclusive, accessible training resources adapted to the realities of low-qualified adults. The goal is to facilitate their access to the digital world and reduce this structural divide.
